The kit, with the paint job done
Choose black or white, gloss or matt: we paint the body, clear coat the neck and send the kit ready to assemble.
Body: Solid mahogany, painted | Neck: Canadian maple, clear coated | Colour: Black or white | Top coat: Gloss or matt
- Body grain filled, painted and clear coated in our workshop
- Maple neck and fretboard clear coated in the same sheen
- Chrome hardware, pickups and solderless wiring in the box
- No sanding, no spraying: assemble, set up and play
A TL-style guitar kit with the longest job already done. We grain fill, paint and clear coat the solid mahogany body in black or white, clear coat the maple neck in the same gloss or matt sheen, and send it with the full chrome hardware set. You bolt on the neck, fit the hardware, plug in the solderless wiring and set it up.
Finishing is where most first builds go wrong: grain filling, sanding between coats, drying times, runs and dust. It is also the part that takes weeks. With the paint job done in our workshop, the build is a weekend of assembly and setup, and the guitar looks finished from day one.
Want your artwork on it? The custom TL kit comes with your skin installed on the body, and we can fit a custom decal and an engraved neck plate too.
How It Works
- Choose the body colour: black or white.
- Choose the sheen: gloss (polished) or matt. The neck gets a clear coat in the same sheen.
- We paint and clear coat the body and neck in our workshop in about 5 working days, then ship the kit from Hoi An.
- Bolt on the neck, fit the bridge, pickguard and tuners, connect the solderless wiring, then set up the action and intonation.

FAQ
What is painted?
The whole body (top, back and edges) is grain filled, painted and clear coated. The maple neck and fretboard get a clear coat in the same sheen.
Do I need to solder?
No. The electronics use a solderless system: you plug the parts together.
How long does it take to build?
Most people assemble and set it up in an afternoon or a weekend, since there is no finishing to do.
Gloss or matt?
Gloss is a polished mirror shine. Matt is flat with no shine and hides fingerprints better.
Is the neck already fitted?
No, you bolt it on: the neck pocket is routed and the neck screw holes are ready, so it takes a few minutes.
