2. Scope

These terms apply to every order placed on the Website for guitar kits, guitar bodies and necks, parts, finishing products, luthier tools, guitar skins and decals, complete and custom guitars, digital products and gift vouchers. They apply together with our Refund policy, Shipping policy and Privacy policy. If you buy as a consumer, nothing in these terms limits the rights the law of your country of residence gives you.

To place an order you must be at least 18 years old.

3. Our Products

3.1 Guitar kits are supplied unassembled and unfinished unless stated otherwise. Assembling, wiring, setting up and finishing a guitar requires care and basic skills. Our build guides and our support team are there to help.

3.2 Wood is a natural material. Grain, colour, figure and weight vary from one piece to another and from the photos. Minor natural characteristics that do not affect use are not defects — see the Refund policy for how we handle them.

3.3 Product photos may show optional parts or finishes not included in a kit; the product description lists what is included.

3.4 Finishing products (paints, oils, stains, solvents) are subject to transport restrictions and can only be delivered to the countries listed in our Shipping policy. Read the safety information on the label before use.

3.5 Brand and model names of other manufacturers are used only to describe a body style or compatibility. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by those manufacturers.

4. Prices and Payment

4.1 Prices are shown in the currency of your storefront. For deliveries in the United Kingdom and the European Union, prices include VAT. For other destinations, see section 8.3.

4.2 Delivery costs are added at checkout, unless your order qualifies for free delivery (see Shipping policy).

4.3 We accept payment cards, PayPal, Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay and bank transfer. Orders paid by bank transfer are dispatched once the payment has reached our account.

4.4 If we discover an error in the price of an item you ordered, we will contact you and you can either confirm the order at the correct price or cancel it for a full refund.

5. Your Order and Our Contract

5.1 After you place an order you receive an email acknowledging it. This acknowledgement is not yet an acceptance.

5.2 The contract is formed when we send you the email confirming that your order has been dispatched. Only the items listed in that email are part of the contract.

5.3 We may decline an order, for example if an item is unavailable, a price is clearly wrong or payment is not authorised. If you have already paid, we refund you in full.

5.4 Some products are dispatched from our workshop or on pre-order with a longer lead time. The expected dispatch time is shown on the product page and in your order confirmation.

5.5 If part of your order is out of stock, we will offer you an equivalent item or send the missing item separately as soon as it is available, at no extra delivery cost.

6. Custom and Made-to-order Products

6.1 Custom products include custom paint jobs and artwork, custom body shapes, guitars built or assembled for you, custom guitar skins and decals, and any product made to your specifications.

6.2 Before production we confirm the specification with you (and, where relevant, a design proof). Production starts once you approve it.

6.3 A deposit may be required to start work, with the balance due before shipping. The amount and the estimated lead time are confirmed with your specification.

6.4 Because they are made to your specifications, custom products cannot be cancelled for a change of mind once production has started (see Refund policy). Your rights if a custom product is faulty or not as agreed are not affected.

6.5 Kits configured on the Website from our standard parts (for example choosing a body, neck, veneer and hardware) are not custom products: the normal right to cancel applies.

7. Digital Products (3D Models and Files)

7.1 Digital products such as 3D CAD models, templates and plans are delivered by download link.

7.2 When you buy a digital product you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the files to make instruments for your own use. You may not resell, share, publish or redistribute the files, or use them to manufacture products for sale, without our written permission.

7.3 At checkout you will be asked to agree that the download starts immediately and to acknowledge that you lose your right to cancel once the download has started.

7.4 If a file is corrupted or does not match its description, contact us and we will replace it or refund you.

8. Delivery

8.1 Delivery areas, costs, dispatch and delivery times are set out in our Shipping policy.

8.2 Please check your parcel on delivery. If the packaging is visibly damaged, note it on the delivery note or refuse the parcel, take photos and contact us.

8.3 For deliveries outside the United Kingdom and the European Union, import duties and taxes may be charged by the destination country and are payable by the recipient, unless the Shipping policy states otherwise.

8.4 The risk of loss or damage passes to you when the goods are delivered to you or to a person you nominate.

9. Your Right to Cancel

If you are a consumer, you can cancel your order within 14 days after the day you receive it, without giving a reason. How to cancel, how to return the goods, what we refund and the exceptions (custom products, digital products once downloaded) are explained in our Refund policy, which includes a cancellation form.

10. Your Legal Rights and Our Warranty

10.1 We must supply goods that are as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose. If they are not, you have legal remedies: in the United Kingdom under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and in the European Union under the legal guarantee of conformity of at least two years.

10.2 In addition to your legal rights, we commit to: send free replacement parts for parts that are missing or defective on arrival; provide a free return label when we need a defective part back; and handle wood-quality concerns as described in the Refund policy.

10.3 Our commitments do not cover damage caused by assembly or finishing work, modifications, accidents or normal wear. This does not affect your legal rights.

10.4 To make a claim, contact us at info@theguitarfabrik.com with your order number and photos.

11. Assembly and Safety

You are responsible for assembling, wiring and finishing your kit safely and for following the instructions and product safety information, in particular for electrical components, tools, paints and solvents. Use finishing products in a ventilated area and keep them away from children.

12. Our Liability

12.1 We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or our negligence.

12.2 We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, for business losses (our products are sold for private use), or for damage caused by incorrect assembly, modification or use of a product contrary to its instructions.

12.3 Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for defective products under product liability law, or for any liability that cannot be limited by law.

13. Using the Website and Intellectual Property

13.1 You must not misuse the Website, including by introducing malicious code, attempting unauthorised access or sending unsolicited advertising.

13.2 All content on the Website (texts, photos, videos, product designs, drawings, 3D models, logos and the names "The Guitar Fabrik" and "The Guitar Kit Fabric") belongs to us or our licensors. You may view and print it for personal use only.

13.3 You may link to our home page in a fair way that does not suggest any association or endorsement we have not given.

14. Privacy

We process your personal data as described in our Privacy policy.

15. Complaints, Disputes and Applicable Law

15.1 If you have a complaint, contact us at info@theguitarfabrik.com. We reply within 5 working days and aim to resolve it quickly.

15.2 These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of residence, and you can bring a claim in the courts of your country.

15.3 Consumers in the European Union can also refer an unresolved dispute to a consumer mediator: [MEDIATOR NAME, ADDRESS, WEBSITE].

16. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your order is the one published on the Website when you placed it.
