Yellow gloss nitrocellulose lacquer applied after primer/sealer, providing rich colour and an added protective layer. This Solid Classic Gibson Gloss Yellow finish is a pale “custard” yellow lacquer paint commonly used on the Les Paul Junior, and it suits any of our kit guitars beautifully. A dependable yellow guitar paint for a vintage solid-colour look.

Compatibility

Compatible with our nitrocellulose guitar finish range, including nitrocellulose primer and varnish, as well as our grain filler and polish pastes.

Preparation and Application

  • Shake the can vigorously for 2–5 minutes before use.
  • Apply thin layers to avoid drips and ensure homogeneous coverage.
  • Work in a low-humidity environment.
  • Spray with a uniform movement at approximately 20 cm distance.
  • Wait 12–24 hours between coats.
  • Optionally sand slightly between coats.
  • Apply a primer and sand to 400 grit before spraying.

Safety

Nitrocellulose is toxic and requires protection during finishing; use goggles, mask, and gloves. Apply outdoors or in a well-ventilated area.
