Collection: Custom & Plain Guitar Pickguards

Guitar Pickguards Printed with your artwork, loaded and wired, or plain black and white

A new pickguard changes the look of a guitar in ten minutes, with a screwdriver and nothing else. Our custom pickguards are printed in our workshop with one of our designs or with your own image and shielded with copper on the back. Want it ready to play? Take it loaded, with the pickups and controls already wired. Or keep it simple with a plain pickguard in black or white.

How it works

How a custom pickguard is made

1

Choose the artwork

Any design from our guitar skins, or upload your own image on the product page.

2

Place it

Move, rotate and zoom the design under the pickguard outline until it sits where you want it. You see the result before you order.

3

We make it

We print it, cut every opening and screw hole, add the copper shielding on shielded models, wire the pickups if you chose a loaded one, and send it with the screws.

Which shape for my guitar?

ST-style pickguards have 11 screw holes and three single coil openings. TL-style pickguards have 8 screw holes and one neck pickup opening; the bridge pickup sits in the bridge plate. LP-style pickguards are a small raised guard held by a bracket and screws. Not sure? Compare the screw holes of your current pickguard with the product photo.

Why the copper shielding matters

Single coil pickups pick up hum from lights, screens and power supplies. The copper on the back of our shielded printed pickguards cuts that noise, a job that usually takes an afternoon with tape and a soldering iron.

Building a whole guitar?

Our ST-style guitar kit with custom pickguard and TL-style guitar kit with custom pickguard come with the printed pickguard in the box. To choose a material, read pickguard materials explained.

FAQ

Questions about guitar pickguards

Will the pickguard fit my guitar?

Our ST-style, TL-style and LP-style pickguards follow the standard drilling and pickup openings, so most guitars of those shapes take them. On a vintage or non-standard model, lay your current pickguard over the photo and compare the screw holes before you order.

Can I print my own image on a pickguard?

Yes. Choose Your own image on the product page, upload it, then move and zoom it under the pickguard outline. You see the result before you order. A sharp, high-resolution image gives the best print.

What does loaded mean?

A loaded pickguard comes with the pickups, the pickup selector and the pots already fitted and wired. You connect it to the output jack with the solderless plug, screw it on, and the guitar is ready to play.

Is the pickguard shielded?

Our printed pickguards marked Shielded have copper on the back, which cuts the hum single coil pickups pick up from lights and screens. The plain pickguards are not shielded.

How long does it take?

Plain pickguards ship from our European warehouses. Printed and loaded pickguards are made to order in our workshop in about 4 working days, then shipped from Hoi An: allow 15 to 20 days in all.

Are the screws included?

Yes, with every pickguard. On the printed pickguards you choose them in chrome, black or gold.

Can you make another shape?

ST, TL and LP shapes are available now and more are on the way. For another guitar, contact us with the model and a photo of your current pickguard.
