Neck Plans & 3D Model, S-Style Headstock

Plans for a 25.5" bolt-on neck with the S-Style headstock (the classic S-style shape, 6 tuners in line), drawn from our own 3D model and not traced from a photo. Print the 1:1 template and cut by hand, send the DXF files to a CNC router or a laser, or open the 3D model in your CAD software and change it to suit your build.

What's in the plans

• Neck outline with the S-Style headstock, 6 tuner holes and the truss rod channel
• Headstock drawn on its own at a larger scale
• 3 fretboards: 7.25", 9.5" and 12" radius, with every fret slot and position marker
• Side view, neck profiles at frets 1 and 12, and a full fret position table
• 1:1 templates that tile on A4 or US Letter, plus a single A1 sheet for a print shop
• Every file in millimeters and in inches

2D plans or full pack

• 2D plans: PDF plans and templates, DXF files for CNC (R12 and R2013, one layer per operation and depth) and true-scale SVG files for laser cutters and Inkscape.
• Full pack: the 2D plans, plus the 3D model as a STEP file (Fusion, FreeCAD, SolidWorks, Onshape and others) with the neck and the 3 fretboards as separate solids, and STL files for 3D printing.

Build the whole guitar

This is the same neck as in our S-style guitar plans, which add the body, the pickguard and all 3 headstocks. The wood for the neck and the fretboard is in our neck and fretboard blanks, and the two-way truss rod goes in the channel.

Download and licence

The files arrive by email as soon as your payment goes through: one zip file, with a START-HERE file that tells you which file to open. Build as many necks as you like from them, to keep or to sell. The files themselves are for you only, so please don't share or resell them.
