Application Guide

Recommended Tools: Brush, sponge, or cloth

Dissolving in Water: For best results, use hot (but not boiling) water. Always start by pouring the water into a clean glass, plastic (HDPE), or ceramic container. Gradually add the pigment powder while stirring continuously. Keep stirring occasionally for 10–15 minutes to ensure complete dissolution. Allow the mixture to cool before applying.

Dissolving in Solvents: Use denatured alcohol, acetone, or petroleum spirits. Pour the solvent into a suitable container first, then slowly add the pigment powder while stirring. Stir occasionally over 30–60 minutes to ensure full dissolution.
When dissolved in solvent, the pigment can also be mixed with our to create custom tinted finishes. Always strain the solution before adding it to lacquer or spray equipment to prevent clogging.

Application: Apply the mixed stain directly onto the wood surface using a sponge, cloth, or brush — ideal for vibrant, professional-quality finishes on our and custom luthier projects.
